A/N: You might have noticed the Black Out stories on CID well this is my lame attempt. The RCWW girls came up with the idea for doing these stories. This is my first attempt at a one part story, I bruise easily. I hope you like it.

I want to give thanks to Diane for all the help she gave me on this. And for being such a great beta.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I lived on the fourth floor with my roommate Tess and her boyfriend Kyle. It was pretty crowded but I had no choice; finding work in
New York was a problem. I wanted to be a singer but wasn’t having much luck. I went for auditions and I had one for tonight in a seedy bar and so I had to dress the part. If Amy ever found out about it she would get Kyle to send me home on the first bus back to Roswell . Kyle took on the overprotective brother role after Amy married Jim. He gave me pepper spray and a gun, for emergencies only.

Tess happens to be one of my best friends and she helped me to pick out an outfit for my audition. Once we had raided through all the clothes in our closets we decided on a pair of black hot pants and a red boob tube. She helped me with my hair so that is was tied back in a loose bun. Luckily Kyle had already gone to work so I could get dressed without having to worry about him seeing me in the outfit. After finding a pair of completely unsuitable high heel shoes I picked up my leather jacket, stereo and my bag.

“Go get them,” Tess told me as I headed out the door.

“Thanks Tess, see you later.” I replied heading for the stairs remembering my past experiences with the elevator. I tried to walk in the shoes but my feet were already killing me and so I walked back to the elevator defeated. This was all I needed. I had only lived here a month and it was so different from
Roswell .

I pressed the button for the elevator and listened to it making its way to my floor. The door shuddered open to reveal a short haired, brown eyed, well-built guy who lived on the fifth floor.

“Are you getting in?” He snapped.

I quickly entered before the doors closed. He looked me over and rolled his eyes. He was wearing a light blue shirt and black jeans. I felt self-conscious and tried to tug down my top but it didn’t help.

“Which floor?” He asked standing next to the door.

“First,” I replied not looking at him as I set down my stereo.

The elevator was barely moving which didn’t surprise me and hair boy looked like he was having fun pressing all the buttons. It moved for a couple more seconds and then came to a halt and the lights went out.

I could hear him rummaging about for something. He produced a lighter and lit it.

“What did you do bonehead?” I shouted at him causing the lighter to go out.

“It probably got tired of hearing you talk,” he replied.

“Are you trying to be funny? Do something and get us out of here.”

He pressed the emergency button and I rolled my eyes.

“That never works,” I stated.

“I knew it. You are responsible for this, how else would you know? And what am I supposed to do about it?” He asked, re-igniting the flame.

I shook my head and he walked over and cornered me.

“I am glad we got that straight,” he whispered into my ear.

I pushed him out the way and took my bag off my back and located a candle I had bought earlier that day and forgotten to take out. I completely blame my mother for my addiction to candles. They were all over the house when I grew up.

I took the lighter from him and lit the wick and set it down in the middle of the floor.

“Don’t tell me you were hoping to get stuck in here with me, princess,” he whispered.

I took off my jacket and folded it up and set it down in the corner. The elevator was really small and he seemed to be taking up most of the room.

“I have somewhere I need to be and the last place is in here with you.”

“Michael,” he stated slowly walking around me.

“Maria,” I told him sitting next to the candle and talking some cedar oil out of my bag.

He continued to walk around in the limited space.

“Can you stop that? You are making me dizzy,” I said taking another sniff.

“Are you kidding me? With all the scents you have I am making you dizzy.” He replied stopping in front of me.

I put away the oil and looked up at him. He seemed to be looking for a way out.

“There is a hatch up there,” he said pointing up as my gaze followed.

“And you are going to leave me here alone?” I shouted looking at him as he scratched his eyebrow.

“I guess not,” he said sitting down opposite me “So what is the stereo for?”

“I have an audition at The Ramblers Pub.”

“That dive?” He replied looking again at my outfit.

“I don’t have much choice. Anyway, I don’t think I am going to make it now,” I stated after looking at my watch.

“So you’re a singer. Why don’t you sing me a song while we wait?”

“I don’t do private performances,” I answered with a pout.

“What do you want to do to pass the time then?”

“Well maybe if you hadn’t been playing like a kid in a candy store with the buttons this wouldn’t have happened. And now I need to come up with something to do?”

“I love the clothes you are wearing. What happened to the rest of them?”

“Excuse me, but I am not the one who is dressed up like a model. Keep insulting me and I will set Kyle on you.” I smirked.

“Who’s Kyle?” He growled

“My step-brother. He lives with me and his girlfriend.”

“So where is the boyfriend?” He asked leaning closer to me.

“I threw him to the kerb. What about you, boyfriend?” The candle was making his features even more distinct and strangely attractive.

“I am not gay, don’t even go there Blondie. And I am single.” He pouted.

“I don’t doubt it,” I replied as his head shot up in my direction.

“Oh please. Don’t tell me you don’t want a piece of this,” he cooed taking off his shirt.

He was just irresistible with it on; the boy was sending my temperature soaring which was difficult enough with the clothes I was wearing. He moved closer and touched my arm.

“Just my luck that I get stuck in here with someone who doesn’t have two brain cells to rub together,” I replied taking a deep breath and pushing my urge to touch him back down where it came from.

“Ouch,” he whispered going back to where he was before and my eyes settled on the candle which was slowly dying out. I looked at my watch again and realised that we had been in here for hours. Funny thing was I didn’t even mind. I could feel his eyes looking me over again and I did the same thing to him.

The lift started up again and the lights came on. I got up slowly taking the candle with me and blowing it out. I lifted my jacket, bag and stereo giving him a smirk.

Michael put his shirt back on. As the lift moved down Michael started pressing buttons again so I took out my pepper spray and pointed it at him.

“One more time and you are going down,” I stated with a smile.

“Anytime Blondie,” he replied raising his hands in mock surrender.

“Let’s just get out of here,” I whispered lowering the spray and putting it away.

When we got to the ground floor I got out just as soon as the doors opened. He followed me.

“See you around,” he said pulling me into his arms and into an earth-shattering kiss.

“Okay then,” I stated with a smirk and turned towards the stairs. We walked off in opposite directions.

I took my shoes off and walked slowly back upstairs letting my thoughts drift back to the elevator and to Michael. He was mildly annoying, but also intoxicating. It was weird, he was weird. His hair looked like it had a mind of it’s own, unruly but it made me want to run my fingers through it. And his chest was nicely built. From the second he took off his shirt I wished I had brought oil. I needed to get my thoughts out of the gutter.

If my mother ever found out I was fantasising about a guy whom she would never find suitable she would kill; first him and then me. Oh and then she would kill Kyle for letting it happen. The last one had possibilities.

And Kyle, if I thought he was bad now he was going to get even worse. The first time I brought a boyfriend home, when we lived in
Roswell , he sent the boy running for the door and I didn’t see him again. Jim treated me like his daughter and he was always on my side until it came to the boys I would bring back. He seemed to act worse than Kyle by flashing his Sheriff’s badge and glaring at them.

I got to the top of the stairs and replaced my shoes before throwing some nasty glares at the elevator. When I got to my door I located my key just as the door flew open and I was facing a not very happy looking sibling. Kyle. Could this day get any worse? I was about to find out.

He looked me over and his eyes almost popped out of his head.

“Maria, where have you been dressed like that?” He ranted as I dropped my head to look at the floor as he continued, “Tess said you left hours ago.”

I so had to thank Tess for that. The expression on my face must have given away my thoughts.

“Don’t go blaming Tess, I got it out of her by force. She wouldn’t give in and I had to resort to tickling her.” He growled grabbing a long jacket and throwing it over my shoulders and pushing me into the apartment.

“I don’t need to hear that, Kyle. I wanted to have some fun, for once.” I told him. I couldn’t tell him the truth. If he knew he would offer me money but I didn’t know if I would be able to repay him and I didn’t want to take any more of their help. I already lived with them for free. If he found out where I was going my first stop would be
Roswell and probably in handcuffs.

“Where did you go?” He asked.

“Not even out the building,” I mumbled taking off my jacket and sitting on the settee.

“What?”

“Elevator.” I said looking at him.

“Not again. There was a freakin’ black out. Why do you think I am home early? I don’t want you going out when there is a black out.” Kyle ranted.

“I…..I thought the elevator was playing up again. A blackout…….Is Tess okay?” I asked. Tess doesn’t like the dark, and I left her alone…

“Tess is sleeping like a baby, now.” He stated with a smirk.

“Did Amy phone?” I asked

Kyle nodded.

“I guess that fun can be left until tomorrow.”

“The black out lasted for hours. What did you find to do in there?” He asked and I could detect the growl in his voice. “What is it with you and that elevator? I hope you were alone.” He ranted walking back and forth in front of me rubbing his head.

“I wasn’t alone.” I whispered again knowing this was going to be war.

“WHO?” He was now in full overprotective mode.

“Upstairs,” I mumbled. Michael owned the whole of the fifth floor. Tess had pointed him out to me when I first moved in with her and Kyle but I had never spoken to him before tonight. He was a talented artist according to Tess.

“Guerin.” He spat.

“He was really…....okay,” I told him nodding my head.

“Okay? This is far from okay. Did he touch you?”

“Touch me?” I mumbled blushing.

“Stay here. I am going to go and sort him out,” he growled as he started to head out of the door.

I ran after him.

“Kyle, please don’t. Anyway, you’ve probably missed him because he was on his way out and besides he only kissed me,” I stated with a slight smile remembering it.

“He kissed you? Did he ask for your hand in marriage first?” He demanded.

“Did you ask for Tess’ hand? I barely know the guy and you want me to marry him? Is that the way I get to kiss boys?” I asked, my voice getting more agitated by the end.

“Tess wants to wait,” he mumbled looking at the elevator. “Yes, I’m sure your mother would agree. You will not get married without the groom being given the third degree.” He stated before adding, “And that is the last time you use that elevator alone.”

“But…”

“NO!”

Well I suppose entering it with Michael would not be alone.

He walked towards the stairs with me following; hoping Michael wasn’t going to be home to see this. Kyle knocked on the door and looked over at me as I blushed, noticing I was still underdressed and it was almost
2 o’clock in the morning.

Kyle rapped harder on the door and it opened slowly to reveal Michael in nothing but a pair of boxer shorts. My eyes ran up and down his body hungrily before Kyle covered my eyes with his hands.

“What were you doing in the elevator with my sister, Guerin? For four hours during the black out?” He asked menacingly.

Michael scratched his eyebrow and looked at me as I got Kyle to unhand me. He was so hot I was going to need a cold shower after this.

“There was a blackout? I………We……..Nothing.” He mumbled.

Kyle pushed past Michael and entered his apartment and I followed. It was really neat and tidy and in the middle of the room was a large painting. It was of me. Kyle glared at it and then at me. He had painted me the way he saw me and it was beautiful.

“Are you posing for him?” He asked and I shook my head. “What is the meaning of this?” He shouted at Michael who was now looking annoyed.

“I paint things that interest me,” he answered looking me over and I giggled like a little girl.

“You like my sister?” He looked at Kyle and then at me.

“Would I paint her if I didn’t?”

“I don’t approve,” he told him as he took my arm and steered me out the door.

“Does that mean you won’t want me dating her?” Michael shouted after us.

“I am not some toy that gets passed around. Stop it. Michael, I love the painting and I would love to pose for you,” I said winking at him. “Kyle, leave him alone.” I stated glaring at him.

“What are your intentions towards Maria?”

“Purely sexual,” he replied and I slapped him on the arm. “Honourable, I swear.” He said lifting his hands in defeat and I smirked at Kyle.

Kyle gave Michael another glare before once again taking my arm and leading me away. Kyle didn’t say anything else to me. I just hoped he would realise I am not a child anymore and I don’t need protecting.

The next day went like any other. I went through the paper looking for a job, calling a few places. Nothing was suitable.

It was night when I arrived home and the power was off everywhere and it was really dark. The rain was so heavy and I was far from dressed for it. I remembered that Kyle and Tess wouldn’t be home after I climbed the stairs, the water dripping off me. I went to a certain door and knocked on it, hoping he would be home. I didn’t want to be alone.

***********

Yesterday was one of the best days of my life. I had noticed Maria when she had first come here. She was stunning. I thought it was her boyfriend she was living with. She had a way of looking at me in the elevator that made a certain part of me do more rising than the elevator ever would. I knew that pressing the buttons would stop the elevator. I didn’t realise the power had gone off, I was sure the buttons thing would have worked. Being trapped with her was heaven. Her skin was milky white and looked so soft, the clothes she was wearing were killing me to look but not touch. She had a way of teasing me like no other person would even dare.

When Kyle came to my door I could see he was protecting her. He had good right too, but I was taller than him and definitely could have kicked his ass. I had to give him credit that he was taking care of her. I could see how fighting off boys would become difficult for him. She looked like she approved of my painting. I never thought I would show it to anyone, it was mine and there was no way I would ever sell it. I made a lot of money selling paintings but the painting of Maria was my best yet; she was a wonderful muse even if she didn’t know it. I could still feel her lips on mine, so soft and gentle, just like her. She was such a good kisser though, and now I'll never get another chance. Not that I really deserved one.

On my way home, the skies opened up and it just started pouring down. "Just perfect", I muttered as the rain pounded my windshield. I had left my raincoat in my room.

I was surprised at
eleven thirty when the doorbell rang. It's not that I was sleeping or anything. I looked through the peephole on my door. It was Maria. She was soaking wet from the rainstorm that was still going on. Of course I opened the door. I was going to apologize for the kiss but before I could something else unexpected happened.

Maria jumped into my arms and kissed me. Her entire body was wet from the rain, but it didn't bother me. The kiss lasted a lot longer than the one from yesterday and it was just as sweet.

Her hands roamed down my back and pulled my shirt up. I lifted my arms up and she took it off. Her hands roamed to the front of my chest, running down my stomach. I pulled her into my arms as I started kissing her neck. Oh man, did she taste good. My hands crept to her stomach around her hips and pulled her top up. I discarded it next to my shirt on the floor. Our lips touched again, followed immediately by our tongues.

As we kissed, she moved her hands to her back and unsnapped her bra. Maria broke the kiss to slide her arms out of her bra. Because of the coldness of the rain, her nipples were hard already. Her breasts were full and I bent my head forward, needing to feel the warmth of her breast in my mouth. My tongue darted around her breast as her hand slid through my hair. I swept her off her feet and carried her down the hallway into my bedroom. I think Maria was surprised that I picked her up.

Like a groom carrying the bride across the threshold we entered my room. I laid her down on the bed with a deep passionate kiss. She reached for my shorts, pushing them down my legs as my hands massaged her breasts. I couldn't believe this was happening. I knew she was mine. I unzipped her pants as she tried to kick them off. I pulled them down her legs and threw them off the side of the bed.

Her breath was starting to get short as we kissed more. She moaned. "Oh, Michael. Make love to me now.” Her hands slid down my back to my ass, squeezing it through my boxers. She rolled my boxers down off my skin, pushing them down to my knees. Her hands continued to touch my butt. It excited me so much to be touched by this woman. I reached for the one remaining piece of clothing on either of our bodies, the one thing keeping me from her, her panties.

I stared down at her beautiful naked body lying on my bed. This is the moment I've only dreamt about. I touched her thighs gently as I pushed the material down her legs and I heard a moan escape her lips.

I scanned her body again, admiring just how sexy she looked. Her arms reached up for me, grabbing my head and pulling it down to her lips. We kissed deeply and passionately as I rolled on top of her. Maria's legs spread open. Her hands slid down my back again to my butt, pushing me inside her. Maria’s eyes lit up as she and I became one. She was helping me thrust by pushing me against her. I felt her barrier and slowed my movements as I looked down at her and uttered her name as I broke through it.

I couldn’t believe this beauty wanted me to be her first. And if I could help it no one would ever touch her again but me.

Her tongue was soft in my mouth, despite the passion of our uncontrollable kisses. I moaned her name softly; it felt like a fairytale to make love to her like this. My hands explored her body again, over her sides to her breasts, on her neck and shoulders. I wanted to feel everything about her. Her body was just so incredible. Her legs wrapped around me, connecting us even further. Her tongue was already in my mouth and I was inside of her. We were joined in three spots. I decided to make it four. I lifted her arms from my butt and held them over her head on the bed, holding them there. Every part of my body was now touching every part of hers.

The idea of speeding up never occurred to me. I was in no rush, and she didn't seem to be either. We were enjoying the moment as we made love for the first time. I didn't want the moment to end.

We continued to make love until the sun came up the next morning.

We fell asleep naked in each others arms. And in the morning, I was afraid I would wake up alone and find out it was only a dream. But instead there she was, still there with me. She was awake and watching me as I put my hand under the covers and pulled her closer to me.

“You do realise you will have to marry me now, don’t you?” Maria stated licking her lips

“Of course, Kyle would try and kill me if I didn’t. And besides I think I am love with his little sister.” I whispered against her lips, my eyes never leaving them.

“Just think?” She replied with a pout.

“I am,” I stated looking over at her beautiful green eyes and memorizing ever part of her form lying next to me. “But we better do it soon because I don’t think I can be around you and not touch you in front of your brother.”

“Ditto. So you are going to have to meet my mother now.”

I groaned. More interrogations. She moved on top of me and put her head on my chest. I placed my hand on her back and rubbed it. I was truly in heaven. And nothing was ever going to take her away from me.

The End
