Maria sat in her small, but cozy living room in her apartment in New York City,
watching her favorite soap, while biting her nails nervously. After the
commercial break they were finally going to reveal the father of Victoria’s
long lost child! Maria couldn’t wait; she had only been watching this program
religiously for the last year!
Suddenly the incessant chatter of the interminable commercial came to a halt,
just as the soothing hum of the air conditioner died away. Maria sat frozen in
her chair, not even allowing her self to think the worst.
“NO! The commercials are almost over! The power can’t die now!!!” Maria
screamed at the T.V., as if that would magically turn it on again.
Just as she was about to put her foot through the black screen in frustration, a
lifesaving thought suddenly popped into her mind, her battery operated T.V.!!
She had bought the old thing at a thrift shop back when she couldn’t afford
the added expense of powering a television.
Maria sprang from her chair, quickly running to her closet and promptly turning
it inside out, returned to the living room with the small but battery operable
T.V.
“Ugh! Don’t tell me I’m out of batteries!” Maria screamed in
frustration, she was going to miss the revealing of the father!
Suddenly, a last resort thought made its way into her mind, at the end of each
hall was a storage closet that the property manger kept up in times of
emergency. She had never needed to use it, so she wasn’t exactly sure of its
contents, but it should have batteries, right?
Plus this is an emergency! Maria reasoned with herself as she ran down the hall,
not even bothering to change, after all, she was on a time limit!
As Maria reached the storage closet, she quickly bolted inside, though even in
her haste making sure to keep the door open. Maria hurriedly scanned the tiny
walk in room, plunger, tools, several unimportant boxes…ah ha! At the back of
the room were a couple of shelves loaded with small boxes, the perfect place for
batteries!
Rummaging through one of the boxes quickly, Maria squealed in delight when she
found the right batteries.
“Yes! I’m saved!” Maria cried joyfully.
“Hold it Blondie! Those are mine!” Came a deep voice, making Maria turn on
her heel.
“Excuse me? I know you’re not referring to my batteries!” Maria said while
raising an eyebrow dangerously.
“You mean my batteries! Hand them over!” The stranger said while moving
closer to Maria, the sudden movement causing the door to shut.
“You-you imbecile! That door locks from the outside!” Maria screamed, the
batteries momentarily forgotten.
“What?” The stranger said, moving quickly to the door and trying to open it
in vain.
“Great, this is just great! I’m missing my show, and now I’m stuck in here
with you!” Maria said while feeling around for a lantern she was sure she had
seen.
“Yeah like I want to be here!” The man said with annoyance, while Maria
managed to switch the lantern on.
“Who are you anyways? I’ve never seen you on my floor before!” Maria said
while looking him up and down suspiciously, also noting his great body.
“It’s Michael, and that’s because I live a floor down.” Michael said,
smirking as he noticed the woman was staring.
“What!? You live a floor below me and you have the nerve to come up to my
storage room and demand batteries?!” Maria said with outrage, who cared if he
was hot, he was a jerk!
“My floor was out ok, ummm?”
“My name is Maria, and that doesn’t give you the excuse to try and steal
mine!”
“Are you always this annoying?” Michael asked through gritted teeth,
instantly regretting it when he saw the petite woman’s eyes flash with anger.
“Listen you arrogant-irritating-pig,” Maria started, walking right up to the
man, stabbing him in the chest with each word, but as Maria looked up, all words
were suddenly lost in the small space between them.
Suddenly in the close proximity to him, did she fully realize the situation; she
was in a hot storage room with possibly the finest male specimen she had ever
laid eyes on. Maria licked her lips nervously, her green eyes trapped within the
soft tones of brown in Michael’s.
Michael stood entranced with the woman in front of him, her eyes were the
prettiest he’d ever seen and the scent she was wearing was slowly driving him
insane, not too mention her lips and slender body were to kill for. No longer
able to stand only a couple of inches from her without tasting her, he slowly
started lowering his head, his heart skipping a beat when he saw Maria begin to
rise on her toes to meet him half way.
As his full lips fused with hers, Maria couldn’t suppress the moan that
escaped her mouth; suddenly the need to watch her show was long forgotten as she
was quickly driven into ecstasy.
The intense passion quickly escalating in level left Michael breathless and
needing more, feeling brave he slowly slipped his hands inside Maria’s shirt,
reveling at the silky smoothness of her skin. Encouraged by her whimpers of
need, Michael almost had her blouse completely unbuttoned, when suddenly his
private moment was intruded on.
“Whoa! Sorry!” Came a sudden embarrassed voice.
Willing his head not to explode with anger, Michael quickly opened his eyes,
seeing the blushing form of his roommate Kyle.
“Sorry man, when you didn’t come down I thought you got lost or
something.” Kyle said through a grin, while looking at his feet, he could
almost feel the anger radiating off of Michael.
Maria looked from the embarrassed, yet amused Kyle, to the obviously frustrated
Michael, grinning mischievously she quickly bit at his lip whispering
seductively,
“Why don’t we go finish this in my room, seeing as how the power’s still
out and you made me miss my show, I’m going to need some entertaining!”
Michael glanced down the gorgeous woman, a wolf in a sheep’s clothing if he
ever saw one, already he could tell this woman would be the end of him, yet
somehow he didn’t seem to care.
Returning her grin he grabbed her by the arm and preceded to half drag half run
with her to her room, smiling at the night he knew to have ahead of him.
